The Robert & Erna Brosig Permanent Endowment Fund
Securing the Future of the De Pere Historical Society for Generations to Come
A FUTURE-DEFINING GIFT: A FAMILY’S LOVE FOR LOCAL HISTORY LIVES ON
The endowment fund of the De Pere Historical Society at White Pillars recently received a future bequeath of $1 million dollars from a charitable remainder trust given by the Brosig family. In return for this future gift, the Historical Society has named the fund the “Robert and Erna Brosig Permanent Endowment Fund”, in honor of their loving parents, Robert and Erna Brosig. This generous gift will greatly secure the future of the White Pillars Museum and the De Pere Historical Society.
The endowment fund earnings play an important role in the operations of the Society and White Pillars. In 1952, Robert and Erna Brosig chose De Pere as the place to raise their four children. They valued De Pere as a special place and resided here until Erna’s death in 2005 and Robert’s death in 2011. Their children felt this gift is a way to preserve the historical values of De Pere and, at the same time, honor their parents. A plaque is now on display at White Pillars acknowledging the name of the endowment fund and giving additional information on Robert and Erna.
A TIME-ESSENTIAL FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY: MATCHING PERIOD
The Brosig family has also been exceedingly generous in offering an additional time-sensitive donation match period. From October 17, 2017 to October 16, 2018, all donations made to the Robert & Erna Brosig Permanent Endowment Fund of the De Pere Historical Society, up to a total of $250,000, will be matched by the Brosig family. The potential benefit to the Society could be as much as $1.5 million dollars. During this period, your financial gift allows us to unlock the full advantage of the Brosig family’s incredible stewardship. Please give generously and encourage others to join you in this once in a lifetime opportunity. Also, as we are a 501(c)(3) organization, your gift may be tax deductible, and your tax advisor should be consulted.
